Fire Marshal’s Office: Woodbridge woman tried to set home on fire during argument

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (DC News Now) — Prince William County fire officials said that a Woodbridge woman was arrested and charged after she was accused of setting fires at her home during an argument on Saturday.

Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) officers were dispatched to the 15100 block of Jennerette Lane around 10:05 a.m. for a reported domestic disturbance. An officer saw smoke and requested that Fire and Rescue and the Fire Mashal’s Office respond.

Officials said that there was a domestic dispute between the victim and 48-year-old Amina Abdullah Muhammad Hamilton. The Fire Marshal’s Office said Hamilton was accused of trying to set the house on fire with an ignitable liquid.

Officials got arrest warrants for Hamilton, and she turned herself in on Sunday. She was charged with burning or destroying a dwelling house and second degree attempted murder.
