Fire in Fresno prompts investigation

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A grass fire in Fresno started on Monday afternoon, according to the North Central Fire Department.

Firefighters say North Central units responded to a small grass fire on Shields and Bryant Avenues around 2:30 p.m.

There was a total of seven apiratus, and the total of 15 personnel on the scene.

According to firefighters, the fire is a vegetation fire. None of the fire reached surrounding structures and there were no injuries to firefighters or civilians.

Firefighters say as the weather gets hotter, its important to have defensible space around homes and to take down the weeds and tall grass.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
