Fire diverting traffic near Watauga County school Thursday morning

VALLE CRUCIS, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Watauga County Emergency Services say an early morning structure fire in the area of Valle Crucis School has closed the roadway Thursday morning.

Officials say the road near Broadstone Road and Hwy 194 are closed until 7 a.m. Thursday.

There’s no information on the extent of the fire.

In a social media post, Watauga County Sheriff’s Office reported that the school is on a 2-hour delay this morning. The agency said that fire departments were clearing the area.
