Fire displaces 8 people in Scranton

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Officials say eight people were displaced after a fire in Scranton on Monday.

Scranton Fire Department Assistant Chief Jack Davis told 28/22 News the call came in just after 3:00 p.m. Monday for a fire at a home on Hampton Street in Scranton.

There were eight people home at the time and officials say the fire started in the kitchen on the second floor, according to Chief Davis.

Chief Davis says the home did sustain heavy fire and water damage.

No injuries were reported and those impacted are staying with family, according to Chief Davis.
