Fire destroys bathroom of Union County home near Waxhaw

WAXHAW, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A fire destroyed the bathroom of a Union County home Monday morning.

According to the Waxhaw Volunteer Fire Department, firefighters responded around 10:30 a.m. to a structure fire in southwest Union County. There was a two-story home with smoke showing from the rear.

The fire was in Jackson Volunteer Fire Department’s district.

Firefighters say a search resulted in no individuals inside. The fire was contained to a bathroom and part of a bedroom on the second floor. No injuries were reported.

Other agencies on the scene include Jackson VFD, Mineral Springs FD, Union County Emergency Management, and Union County Fire Marshal’s Office.
