Fire Department releases cause of haze at Mall of Louisiana
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The St. George Fire Department determined the cause of a light haze that was seen at the Mall of Louisiana on Monday, March 25.
SGFD said, “the light haze was caused by a burnt up belt in an air handler.” They said there was no fire.
At the time, firefighters responded to a reported fire at the mall.
Firefighters responded a little before 4:30 p.m. to a store inside the mall. At the time, an evacuation order was put in place for the area where the haze was located in the mall.
SGFD said that order lasted for less than 30 minutes.
The fire department determined that “the one air handler has to be fixed.”
