Fire burns Aloha home; 1 person found dead

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — One person was found dead inside an Aloha house fire Sunday afternoon, TVF&R said.

Smoke was seen coming from the window of the home in the 6000 block of SW Zabaco Terrace by someone who called 911. That person also rang the doorbell to alert anyone inside, but no one answered the bell.

Fire crews arrived within minutes and found the fire in the bedroom. Once the fire was knocked down, crews searched the house and found one person already dead.

Officials said “an extensive number of personal items” made it difficult for fire crews to easily get through the house.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The name of the person who died has not yet been publicly released.
