Fire breaks out at mobile home in Danville, investigation underway

DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — The Danville Fire Marshal’s Office has launched an investigation after a fire broke out at a mobile home on March 19.

Details are limited; however, the Danville Fire Department responded to the 100 block of Old Piney Forest Road where crews discovered heavy fire and smoke coming from the back of the house and porch area.

According to the fire department, first responders searched the home and located a fire in the laundry room. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and worked on the scene for almost two hours.

The department confirmed no occupants were inside the house.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
