Finn's Harborside in East Greenwich closed after Friday night blaze. What we know.

EAST GREENWICH – Finn's Harborside restaurant, a mainstay of waterfront dining in coastal East Greenwich, has closed in the aftermath of a fire on Friday night.

"Due to a significant fire on the property last night, we will be closed indefinitely as we sort through next steps," says a post on the restaurant's Facebook page.

The first alarm came in at 11:02 p.m., and firefighters encountered heavy flames when they arrived at the Water Street restaurant, said East Greenwich fire Capt. Joseph Richardson. The blaze also drew fire crews from Warwick and North Kingstown.

Firefighters cleared the scene at 3:01 a.m. Saturday, Richardson said.

"We are grateful to the first responders who came to the scene quickly and are thankful that no one was hurt," says the restaurant's online post. "We thank you for your continued support and patience and will be providing updates when we have them."
