Final six determined for school board general election

With results in the May 14 primary election certified, the six candidates advancing to the Frederick County Board of Education general election have been determined.

Veronica Lowe, who climbed from seventh place to sixth place as votes were counted after primary day, held on to the final spot in the group of six.

The final places and vote totals in the Board of Education race were:

* Chad King Wilson Sr. — 14,012

* Jaime Kiersten Brennan — 12,588

* Colt Morningstar Black — 11,502

* Veronica Lowe — 6,881

* Tabitha McLoughlin — 6,619

* Mahesh Aitha — 6,206

* Patti Lee Worsley — 5,508

* Angie Vigliotti — 5,022

* Cecelia Moore Reidler — 3,746

* Justin L. Smith — 3,396

* Jerry Alexandratos — 3,343

* Paul Fairfield — 3,337

* Allison Medrano — 3,016

* Rayna Remondini — 2,887

* Navian Scarlett — 2,261

After the final votes were counted on Friday, the results were certified.

The top six candidates advance to the Nov. 5 general election.

There are three open seats on the school board. The three incumbents in those seats did not run for re-election.
