NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top utilities companies were mixed at the close of trading:

American Electric Power Co. fell $.37 or .9 percent, to $42.28.

Consolidated Edison Inc. Holding Co. fell $.52 or .9 percent, to $55.27.

Dominion Resources Inc. fell $.36 or .7 percent, to $50.75.

Duke Energy Corp. rose $.15 or .2 percent, to $63.97.

Exelon fell $.91 or 3.0 percent, to $29.31.

PG&E fell $.39 or 1.0 percent, to $40.56.

Southern Co. fell $.38 or .9 percent, to $43.17.
