Final 4 ‘Voice’ Contestants Shine in Live Finale

The Voice finale got off to an emotional start as Carson Daly delivered a message to people affected by the tragic Ariana Grande concert bombing. Carson said, “On behalf of everybody here at The Voice our hearts go out to the people in Manchester, England, at an Ariana Grande concert where an incident has occurred, lives have been lost, and many hurt. You are in our thoughts and prayers.” And even though it’s difficult to celebrate anything during times like these, the show continued on, celebrating the final four contestants.

Shining Voice Performances

Aliyah Moulden’s first performance of the night was an original called “Never Be Lonely,” and it also happened to be her best performance of the night. Aliyah also hit the stage with her coach, Blake Shelton, for a duet. And while Blake Shelton was “Dancin’ in the Street” with Aliyah, he was also crying in his beer with Lauren Duski as they sang the Hank Williams classic “Tear in My Beer.” Lauren also tugged at everyone’s heart strings with “The Dance” by Garth Brooks and a song that she wrote called “Deja Vu.”

The Power of Prince

Jesse Larson kept a little bit of the country feel going with an original song co-written by his hero Chris Stapleton. But he brought the house down with a guitar-shredding duet of “Let’s Go Crazy” with his coach, Adam Levine. And Jesse wasn’t the only one covering Prince: Alicia Keys and Chris Blue shined during their duet of “Diamonds and Pearls.” But quite possibly the best performance of the night was when Chris showed off his best Janet Jackson moves during an awesome performance of “Rhythm Nation.”

It was a good night from everyone, and it will be interesting to see who gets crowned this season’s champion of The Voice.

The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC. Watch full episodes and highlights of The Voice on Yahoo View, available on iOS and Android.
