Fig Garden about to smell a lot more yummy. Fresno spot welcomes chain pretzel maker

A tiny spot in Fresno’s Fig Garden Village is undergoing construction to convert it to the shopping center’s newest business.

Wetzel’s Pretzels will move into the spot between CVS and The Vault Fine Jewelers, Wetzel’s confirmed.

The franchised pretzel maker is planning a late summer opening.

It will be the fifth Wetzel’s Pretzels in the Fresno area.

Usually associated with malls, the pretzel maker has locations at Fashion Fair, River Park and inside Walmart stores on Ingram Avenue in Fresno and on Herndon Avenue in Clovis. It also has stores in Visalia and Hanford.

For now, the windows are boarded up, but the store will soon be transformed. It was most recently Reinvent Juicery.

Wetzel’s is opening just a few doors down from a locally owned bakery with delicious scents of its own: La Boulangerie French Bakery & Cafe.
