Welcome to our daily guide to Russia 2018, with all you need to know about today's World Cup schedule, team news, TV details and betting.

What are today's World Cup fixtures?

We're back to three games a day after yesterday's four-match saga. Those are...

  • Costa Rica vs Serbia

  • Germany vs Mexico

  • Brazil vs Switzerland

What time is the World Cup on today?

13:00, 16:00 and 19:00 BST

What TV Channel can I watch the games on?

Costa Rica vs Serbia and Brazil vs Switzerland are on ITV1 are and ITV1 HD, whilst Germany vs Mexico is on BBC One HD.

Where are the venues in which the games are taking place?

Costa Rica vs Serbia will take place in the Samara Arena, the stadium's first match of this World Cup. Then for Germany vs Mexico we head back to the Luzhniki Stadium where it all began. Finally, Brazil vs Switzerland kick-off at the Rostov Arena, one of the more peculiar stadiums at the Russia World Cup. You can read more about each of them on our stadium guide.

What is the team news?

Nemanja Matic, the Manchester United midfielder, and Dusan Tadic of Southampton are both set to feature in midfield while Aleksandar Mitrovic, who won promotion with Fulham while on loan last season, will lead the line for the Serbians.

Costa Rica will have Real Madrid's three-time Champions League-winning goalkeeper Keylor Navas between the sticks while Bryan Ruiz, the former Fulham striker, will lead their attack.

Jerome Boateng is expected to be fit to start for Germany after recovering from a groin injury. His Bayern Munich team-mate Manuel Neuer - so crucial to the way coach Joachim Low wants his side to play - should also start in goal after making his comeback from eight months out in the recent 2-1 defeat to Austria.

Mexico have no reported injury problems, which suits head coach Juan Carlos Osorio's penchant for changing his team and tactics to tackle whatever strengths the opposition have.

Brazil manager Tite has already - perhaps accidentally? - confirmed his starting XI after an apparent leak from a supposedly closed training session. If that turns out to be true, the team will be Alisson; Marcelo, Miranda, Silva, Danilo; Coutinho, Casemiro, Paulinho; Neymar, Jesus, Willian.

Switzerland have a solid base level of player but lack any real stars. Granit Xhaka and Xherdan Shaqiri are the two standouts and there is a good mix of experience and youth.

 What are the betting odds?

Costa Rica 19/5; Draw 23/10; Serbia 10/11

Germany 1/2; Draw 10/3; Mexico 6/1

Brazil 4/9; Draw 7/2; Switzerland 7/1

What is our prediction

Costa Rica and Serbia is going to be an absolute cage match, 0-0.

Germany to stroll seamlessly into World Cup form and batter Mexico 3-0

Switzerland to frustrate until the dying stages, before Brazil nick it 1-0.

What is the latest World Cup news?

Gareth Southgate announced that the England players know who will start on Monday. Rumour has it that Jordan Henderson will start ahead of Eric Dier against Tunisia.

VAR is everywhere. VAR was put to good use as France beat Australia and Denmark beat Peru, with no less than two penalties awarded through the system. So far it has given a good account of itself in what will surely become the VAR World Cup. We've been spoiled for drama.

Finally, England fans can rest a little easier at night, and finally put the ghost of Euro 2016 to bed as Iceland held Argentina to a draw. It's not just England, Iceland are just good.
