FIFA hosts SAfrica officials on match-fixing case

FIFA hosts South Africa officials for talks on investigating fixed World Cup warm-up matches

ZURICH (AP) -- FIFA says it will host South Africa's sports minister and a top soccer official on Friday for talks on allegations that the 2010 World Cup host's warm-up matches were fixed.

FIFA says its secretary general Jerome Valcke is meeting Minister of Sports Fikile Mbalula and South African Football Association President Kirsten Nematandani on Friday in Zurich.

FIFA has threatened South Africa with suspension from soccer if a proposed judicial inquiry interferes in the national soccer body's handling of the case.

Nematandani was briefly suspended by SAFA last December after a FIFA report found "compelling" evidence that World Cup preparation matches were fixed.

SAFA said it had been "infiltrated" by convicted match-fixer Wilson Raj Perumal, who appointed referees.
