Fidel Castro's funeral turned into a private event in the last minute with only about thirty people allowed into the cemetery of Santa Ifigenia. But before the officials closed out all of the local and international media, Castro's ashes were driven from the Revolution Square across the city of Santiago de Cuba for all to pay their last respects.
