FHP seeks info on fatal Town N’ Country hit-and-run

TOWN N’ COUNTRY, Fla (WFLA) Troopers are seeking information on a motorcyclist who allegedly hit-and-killed 32-year-old Roberto Molina-Torres.

The victim was crossing Hillsborough Avenue near George Road on March 18. when surveillance footage captured the crash.

“We still can’t believe this happened,” said Yesenia Molina, the victim’s aunt.

Molina-Torres’ aunt shares he was originally from El Salvador and lived in the United States for about a year. She shares he was working in construction to help support family back home.

“Sadly, he died without being able to accomplish his goal, his dreams and aspirations which were all about giving his son a better quality of life,” she said.

The victim’s family originally thought he was missing as he wasn’t answering calls and didn’t show up to work.

Molina says that led them to file a missing person’s report with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office last week. However, this week they learned why he didn’t respond.

“After calling many hospitals, we started searching but unfortunately Monday they gave us the news that he was involved in the hit and run.”

Molina-Torres leaves behind a wife and 6-year-old son who are both in El Salvador. His family plans to send his remains back.

FHP asks anyone with information on the hit-and-run to call *FHP (*347) or Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.
