Columbus, Ga (WRBL)- Readings are feeling merely what one would expect for mid-May but 90° for the first day of May is pushing it more like June readings. This time of year, the average high temperature is 81°.

We are tracking Tuesday’s storm system with scattered to only isolated areas of showers and storms, which will now be welcomed, since we are beginning to see a rain deficit setting-up for April depending on how much rainfall we can squeeze out with Tuesday’s storm system.

May is typically our drier month before we begin to see more tropical Atlantic air. We will get two more opportunities for rainfall late Friday into the day on Saturday.

These two fronts do weaken considerably, so there is no mention of adding severe weather language in our forecast, this is a relief to say. The severe weather season for us is coming to an end, but the Tropical Atlantic season is right around the corner, which can easily bring severe weather.
