A few afternoon showers develop

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Temperatures warm up fast, and highs reach the mid-upper 80s this afternoon. Humidity will be slightly higher, so it will feel quite warm, especially in the sun.

Spotty showers develop in the afternoon. The heaviest downpours expected just east of I-75 where the sea breeze pushes inland.

Tomorrow, we’ll see a similar set-up, but the breeze from the east will be a bit stronger, so the late-day storms push toward the Gulf of Mexico.

Friday’s rain chances are lower because the east breeze completely cuts off the sea breeze, and with no collision between the breezes, rain doesn’t develop as easily.

Highs remain in the upper 80s through the weekend and into next week.
