'Fetch' Will Definitely Be a Song in the 'Mean Girls' Musical

Regina George be damned, "Fetch" is happening. Yes, the "slang from England" that was popularized in the 2004 classic—in our opinion—Mean Girls will be a song in the really-in-the-works Mean Girls musical.

The news was confirmed to Vulture by Tina Fey's husband, composer Jeff Richmond at the premiere of Fey's new movie Admission: "'Fetch' will be a song, for sure, absolutely. And it will probably reprise itself at some point, just so you know." (Vulture suggested a "Fetch" number to Tina Fey back in October, and she liked the idea.) Even though nothing's really been written yet, Richmond had some ideas for some other musical numbers:

Gretchen Wieners will have a song. That's all I can say. But it is fun to think about who is going to get a song — like, Damien will have a couple of songs.

We seriously hope Wieners' song has something to do with stabbing Caesar or hoop earrings.

Fey stirred talk of the musical when she discussed the project on the SAG Awards red carpet with Giuliana Rancic and suggested that Mariah Carey play Amy Poehler's "cool mom" part. We're on board with all of it. Just make it happen, folks.
