Ferrari's F-12 Berlinetta has power to spare

GENEVA (AP) — Ferrari is offering a pulse-quickening new glamour car, the F-12 Berlinetta, that offers monstrous power but slightly improved fuel economy from previous models.

Ferrari President Luca Cordero di Montezemolo says the engine is far more powerful, yet lighter than previous V12 models owing to state-of-the-art new metal alloys and "completely new architecture."

Montezemolo told reporters at the Geneva Motor Show on Tuesday that the eye-popping futuristic-looking roadster offers "fantastic drivability."

With about 740 horsepower, the car is billed as the most powerful and fastest production car yet from Ferrari — with the ability to climb up to speeds of 200 kilometers (124 miles) per hour in just 8.5 seconds.
