The Food and Drug Administration has approved the first-ever medical treatment derived from a marijuana plant in the US. GW Pharmaceuticals childhood epilepsy drug, Epidiolex, is made of a cannabinoid, or CBD a component of marijuana that does not give users a high. It's given as an oil, and in clinical trials, it was show to reduce the number of seizures by about 40 percent.
