FBI offering reward for ‘Bearded Bandit’ Belen bank robber
BELEN, N.M. (KRQE) – The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is asking for help locating an individual they say is responsible for a bank robbery in Belen. They’re calling the suspect the “Bearded Bandit.”
The bandit robbed the Wells Fargo Bank at 101 South Main Street in Belen. The incident occurred at 4:29 p.m. on Friday, April 5, the FBI said.

After entering the bank, the robber demanded money from the teller. Now, the FBI is offering up to $2,000 as a reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
The FBI offers the following information about the suspect:
Sex: Male
Race: White
Height: Approximately 5’5”
Build: Average
Clothing: Navy zipper hoodie, grey undershirt, black pants, Tan ball cap with red writing, Tan shoes/boots

Individuals with information can call the FBI at 505-889-1300. Bank robbery carries a maximum prison sentence of up to 20 years, or more if the robber uses a gun or other weapon, the FBI says.
