Fayetteville announces schedule for residential loose leaf collection services

Fayetteville ranked high for veterans but low for raising a family, according to these 2023 lists.

Residential loose-leaf collection services in Fayetteville begin Monday, the city announced.

The day the leaves are collected is determined by zip code.

The collection periods for each zip code are:

• 28301 and 28312: Monday to Dec. 1.

• 28314: Dec. 4-15.

• 28303 and 28305: Dec. 18-29.

• 28304: Jan. 1-12.

• 28311: Jan. 15-26.

• 28306 (Jan. 29-Feb. 9, 2024)

According to the city, residents should:

• Place leaves and pine straw curbside prior to the first scheduled day of pickup.

• Only put leaves and pine straw in the pile. No tree limbs or other yard debris.

• Place piles away from roadways and storm drains.

• Place leaves away from yard decorations, meter panels or utility equipment close to the ground.

• If you put leaves out in sturdy bags or containers on your regular yard waste day, they will be picked up weekly.

• Bad weather may cause delays.
