Father stabs son in Oakley after son fires shotgun: police

(KRON) — An Oakley man was hospitalized on Thursday morning after he was stabbed by his father, the City of Oakley said. The father stabbed his son several times in an attempt to subdue him after the son shot at him, per police.

The city’s Facebook account said Oakley officers responded to a home on Omega Lane at 6:50 a.m. for the father-son fight.

Police believe Jason Daniel, 38, was armed with a shotgun when he threatened his parents. He shot the gun into the ceiling during a struggle.

Both parents struggled with Daniel as he shot at his father and missed. Eventually, the father stabbed Daniel several times and his mother disarmed him.

Daniel was airlifted to a hospital to be treated for injuries. Detectives are working to get Daniel formally charged, the city said.

There are no outstanding suspects or threat to the public.
