Father accused of killing 19-year-old son inside suburban forest preserve

PLAINFIELD, Ill. — A father was charged with first-degree murder after allegedly shooting his 19-year-old son to death inside a suburban forest preserve.

Authorities received a 911 call at approximately 7:50 p.m. Monday regarding shots fired at the Lake Renwick Preserve in Plainfield.

Will County deputies arrived at the scene and discovered a 19-year-old man lying on the ground by the picnic shelter.

The man, later identified as Tayvion Beaugard, was transported to Ascension St. Joseph Hospital where he was pronounced dead. A preliminary autopsy determined that Beaugard sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

The man’s father, Fred Beaugard, 56, of Romeoville, was taken into custody at the scene.

Beaugard was charged with first-degree murder.
