Fatal pedestrian/vehicle crash in Eastland County

EASTLAND COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A pedestrian lost their life in a crash that occurred west of Desdemona Wednesday morning.

On April 3 at 12:01 a.m., emergency crews were dispatched to FM 2214, located half a mile west of Desdemona, in response to a collision between a pedestrian and a single vehicle.

According to a preliminary investigation, a pedestrian was lying in the eastbound lane as a truck headed east on FM 2214 at FM 8. The pedestrian was not visible to the driver, causing the truck to strike the pedestrian.

The pedestrian, 31-year-old Catelyn Brooke Jordan of Stanton, Texas, was pronounced dead on the scene of the crash. The driver did not sustain injuries.
