At approximately 7:40 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, the Saratoga Springs Police Department received reports of a car swerving “all over the road” on Pioneer Crossing.

Police said they were unable to locate the car at that time, but about 15 minutes later, deputies with the Utah County Sheriff’s Department responded to a crash on SR-73 in Cedar Fort involving the same car.

That car had drifted across the center line, hitting an eastbound semi-truck, police said. The driver of the car, Daniel Curtis Brock, 62, of Provo, was trapped for more than 50 minutes while Unified Fire Authority extricated him.

An AirLife Utah helicopter flew him to Intermountain Medical Center, where he later died.
