Emergency crews responded to the house fire at 1628 8th St. about 2:20 a.m. Tuesday with reports from the scene indicating people were still inside.

Police officers arrived first and reported heavy fire conditions and confirmed that an occupant, an 83-year old man, was still inside the house.
