Fashion trends To Steal From India Couture Week 2016!!

India Couture Week 2016 is back with yet another edition of glamour and glitz. For all those brides and grooms sifting through designer look books, some more inspiration is coming your way—The bejeweled ensembles, featuring the slender silhouettes, majestic Lehengas, flowing drapes, floor sweeping Anarkalis, dramatic robes, flamboyant sarees and what not?

Whimsicality of shapes and creativity of materials is expected from Haute Couture—For being synonymous with the wedding wear in India—Lots of bespoke, grandeur, high ensembles for the brides trousseau and the grooms wardrobe finds its way on to the ramps in India Couture Week 2016.

It started from ace designer Manish Malhotra’s “Persian Story” with suave Fawad Khan and the svelte Deepika Padukone as the showstoppers. The finale by Rohit Bal Russia’s inspired Collection turned out to be an absolute delight for all the Couture lovers!

I. Bejewelled Headbands on the Go:

Using floral and a versatile colour palette Varun Bahl showcased his collection ‘Vintage Garden’ which reinvents customary silhouettes for contemporary Indian woman. With Blouses, long skirts embellished with beads and heavy embroidery-models fluttered on the runway adorning the embellished bands which resembled to those worn by Czars and Czarinas once in Russia. This was the perfect finishing touch for an updo that added a touch of sparkle & was an arresting sight for the audience, too.

Style Tip—While the models spotted the bands on chignons, open tresses would also have given a dressed look!

II. The High-low hem Kurta:

Again, asymmetric kurta for men was certainly the highlight for Varun Bahl’s Show. The model anchored it with a half sleeved floral bandhgala and parallel pyjamas. The fabrics used were silk, georgette and chiffon. Achkans, Nehru Jackets, kurtas and churidars with flowers embroidered all over were also flaunted by the male models.

Style Tip—Ditch the traditional colours and go for pastels in beige, ivory, baby blue asymmetric kurta.

III. Sheer makes it clear

Master Couturier Varun Bahl Collection seems to be tailor made for brides who love pastels and neutrals. Sheer blouses boasting varied degrees of opacity were seen on the way. Floral motifs were seen on the net fabric, which added decadence and made the collection look truly extravagant.

Style Tip—The versatile colour palette ranges from soft pastels like pistachio, duck-egg blue and pale pink to stronger tones like fuchsia and midnight blue will give a subtle look. Also, bell and lantern sleeves will give a classy touch.

IV. Tassles without hassle

Designer Gaurav Gupta’s “Scape Song” Collection forms a vintage rendition of pearls and tassels. The strategic cuts were interesting and added to the look of the one-shouldered outfit. The collection featured his trademark cocktail saris, gowns and sarees.

Style Tip—Go for Vintage Hues and softer pastels like lavender, cherry and English blue colours.

V. Ruffles Romance

Gaurav Gupta made romantic ruffles looked striking on the strapless gowns. Sculptural ruffles was a signature element in his collection. The architectural detailing in every flair looked pretty fresh. Also, an overly ruffled layered gown made out of crystal mesh fabric by Swarovski was worn by the Showstopper—Saiyami Kher!

Style Tip—Go for colours such as greys, browns and greens with a striking balance of pastel-y pinks, blues and white for your Lehenga or Cocktail Sari with a lot of ruffles to give a dramatic effect!!

VI. Anamika Khanna paints creamy skies:

Gone are the days of brides swearing by plum red or maroon colour Lehengas—Dont believe us? Capital runways are a proof!
At Anamika Khanna, the ivories came in a quick succession with sneaky shades of yellow, romantic rose Hues, pristine whites and indulgent creams.

Style Tip—From the red carpet to your pre-wedding soirees, creamy or white colour Lehenga can never go wrong! Like Sonam Kapoor opted for a muted Hue at the event—Also, like her, amp up your make up game whenever going with soft & satiny colours. Those red lips totally popped like a Boss!
