Fashion Faceoff: Amal Clooney and Hailee Steinfeld Wear the Same Shirt Dress Four Days Apart
May has been a banner month for fashion faceoffs the world never expected, and didn’t know it truly needed. First we saw Rihanna and Julia Roberts go toe-to-toe in a matching Gucci dress styled in polar opposite ways, and now we have Amal Clooney and Hailee Steinfeld sporting the same striped shirt dress a mere four days apart. Will stylish wonders never cease?
Hailee first wore the striped grey and pink Monse dress, which resembles a dress shirt worn backwards with buttons up the back and a knotted hemline composed of two faux sleeves, to Swarovski’s #bebrilliant event in NYC last Tuesday, pairing it with a simple pair of black and silver high-heeled sandals. Then, on Sunday, Amal gave her own take on the silk sheath, leaving the back slightly more unbuttoned to create and off-the-shoulder effect, accessorizing the look with small pearl and diamond earrings and metallic silver Dior pumps while grabbing dinner in Rome with her husband.
