Fantastic weekend ahead for Mother’s Day

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Round after round of severe thunderstorms ravaged the southeast has finally come to end leaving us with a fantastic Mother’s Day weekend forecast.

By later tonight clouds will continue to thin out becoming mostly clear to clear with temperatures falling into the mid to upper 50s overnight. Saturday begins very pleasant with lower humidity levels and slightly cooler temperatures with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s. On Mother’s Day, the day starts off sunny and pleasant then progressively becomes cloudier by the end of the day with highs in the low 80s.

For the upcoming week, we are tracking two separate systems that will likely impact us with more showers and storms as they move through the southeast.

System number one arrives Monday with a few showers and storms and becomes more widespread overnight into Tuesday with scattered showers and storms. Brief lull between systems around the midweek as another front tries to move in from the north. System number two arrives Thursday/Friday with more scattered showers and storms. Severe weather potential is uncertain at this time.

Temperatures for the forecast period will fluctuate from the mid to upper 50s to upper 60s for overnight lows. Afternoon highs will see a range from the upper 70s to mid 80s.
