Fans love vigilante justice for sexual assault on 'Riverdale'

Riverdale touched on a very important social issue this week when Archie Andrews found out that the despicable Nick St. Clair, who previously attempted to rape Cheryl Blossom, also assaulted his girlfriend, Veronica Lodge. So, Archie decided to do something about it.

Dressed as a student, Archie showed up at Nick’s prep school to confront him in his dorm room. When Nick asked Archie why he was really there, Archie responded, “Payback for what you did to Cheryl and Veronica.” However, Nick, being the terrible person that he is, then stated, “Payback? No. You know what I think? I think you’re a small-town hick who’s beginning to realize how deep into shark-infested waters he really is. Careful, when Veronica Lodge smells blood, she’ll turn on you too.” That’s when Archie completely lost it and went all beast mode on him, getting in a lot of punches.

Even though violence is never the answer, Riverdale fans were actually down for the fact that justice was served as they tweeted:

In the end, Archie asked Veronica why she kept the incident a secret, and she responded by explaining a feeling that is familiar to many sexual assault victims: “I felt foolish for not seeing him for what he really was.”

Riverdale airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on the CW.
