For years, Randy Fenoli has helped brides agonize over their wedding gown choices on TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress. As the fashion director of Kleinfeld Bridal, it was his on- and offscreen duty to put women in other people’s designs. So the pressure was on for the runway debut of Randy Fenoli Bridal at Kleinfeld on Thursday night.

If the online viewers’ reactions to the 25 looks on display for Bridal Fashion Week are any indication, the collection will be a hit.

“It has been a dream of mine to return to my roots in designing,” Fenoli told People in February. According to his bio on TLC, he did design two bridal collections just after graduating from New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology and won awards for his work. He had been set to open a custom bridal salon in New Orleans in 2005, when Hurricane Katrina hit.

Since then, of course, he’s become a household name, and bridal style has become a bit more exciting too. “Bridal gowns have become much sexier and more fashion forward,” he told People. “There are more illusion necklines, back detailing, and playfulness in bridal now. The industry is steeped in tradition, but I would like to think I am bringing something fresh and new to the space.”

The gowns he showed on Thursday night ran the gamut from traditional to sexy. There were A-line skirts, sheaths, and ball gowns adorned with lace. The corsets of some subtly displayed their boning, while other looks were more demure, with illusion sleeves and backs. Two models walked side by side showing a full-length and knee-length version of a puffy tulle skirt.

One look was matched with a dramatic cape train. Others evoked nostalgia for Victorian lace.

Fenoli’s grand finale was a little more offbeat than the rest: a blueish white ball gown with a mostly see-through bodice that featured lace strategically placed over the bust.

“I will marry myself just to wear that dress,” commenter Violet wrote of the blue gown.

“Gorgeous, sexy, classy, modern, elegant … there aren’t enough words!” commenter Lisa Da Costa wrote during the Facebook Livestream of the show. “There are many different types of women and Randy designed with all of us in mind! Amazing! I got goose bumps!”

“The good thing is you already knew what people ask for so you got all of that and more in your line,” Crystal Brooks commented.

“Sheath with attached shawl OMG never seen before. I love them all Randy!!!! Wowowowow your calling for sure!!! xoxox,” wrote an excited Amy Jo DeVito.

A few did ask if the designer would consider gowns that would be better suited for plus-size brides next time. “Big people fall in love too, and these are designed with the slim lady in mind … very lovely though,” commented Mandy Pearson.

The collection is priced below most high-fashion collections, from $1,500 to $3,000, so brides don’t have to be TV stars to, ahem, say “yes” to them. They will be on display over the weekend of April 21 at the Knot Couture bridal market in New York City.
