WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Luzerne County Coroner says the cause and manner of death are undetermined following an autopsy on the remains of a Wilkes-Barre woman found dead in the woods in March.

69-year-old Debra Fox was the longtime owner of a Carlisle Street home in Wilkes-Barre where the remains of another woman were found a month earlier buried in the basement.

Five people already face homicide charges for that case.

Family and friends of Debra want answers.

“Gather here with friends to hang out and try to keep my mind off my mom for a while a while,” said Debra’s daughter Danielle.

On Public Square in Wilkes-Barre, Thursday, Debra Fox’s daughters and friends gathered to honor of her passing.

“My mom was a real nice personm she helped everyone under the sun, everybody,” said Melissa, daughter of Debra.

Debra first went missing in November and her body was discovered in a wooded area off the Cross Valley Expressway about a month ago.

In the past few months, it was announced that Debra Fox was once an owner of that house on Carlisle Street, where Nicole Cueves was tortured and killed.

Recently, it was announced the cause of Debra’s death is still undetermined.

People were upset by the “undetermined” cause of death announcement.

“I want to keep awareness of that we need to get justice we need to find out what’s going on. I mean, they said that this is undetermined. Undetermined? What does it mean?” said a friend of Danielle, Patricia London.

Melissa, one of Debra’s daughters says she found out about her mother’s “undetermined” cause of death from a newspaper and wants more questions answered from authorities.

“I talked to the detectives and stuff so hopefully they could find out something sooner,” Melissa explained.

One of Debra’s daughters had a personal connection with all individuals arrested in this case.

She also said she met the woman who was tortured and killed in that house on Carlisle Street.

“Jason Race was adopted into our family, we are not blood-related he’s a cousin through adoption. Faye was Jay’s fiancé. Desiree and Sarai are former friends. I just knew Bill because he was at my mom’s house for a while,” Melissa continued.

Melissa also shares her encounter with Nicole Cuevas before her murder.

“I just know she was brought up here met her once, after that, it went sour,” Melissa explained.

“Where did you meet her?” 28/22 News Reporter Jason LiVecchi asked.

“At my mom’s house when they first got it,” Melissa replied

“What did you talk to her about?” asked LiVecchi.

“We were just talking, we met, we were just talking,” Melissa explained.

Why did you come to Wilkes-Barre?” LiVecchi asked.

“Because Desiree had her under false beliefs of a relationship,” Melissa stated.

The investigation into Debra’s death is on going at this hour.
