Family of 6 displaced after fire breaks out at Fremont home

(KRON) — A family of six was displaced after a fire broke out Wednesday afternoon at their Fremont home, the Fremont Fire Department (FFD) said. The fire happened around 2:30 p.m. at a one-story house on Driscoll Road and Joyce Avenue where the family’s two cats were also displaced.

The fire was under control within 20 minutes, according to FFD. Crews were able to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby homes.

The fire “destroyed” the interior of the home, officials said. No injuries were reported to the residents or firefighters.

The family of six consists of two adults and four children. Video of FFD responding to the fire can be viewed in the media player above.

Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.
