Falcons' Johnson placed on injured reserve

The Atlanta Falcons announced three transactions on Friday.

They signed tackle Jeff Nady, placed tackle Mike Johnson on injured reserve and waived punter Sean Sellwood.

Nady was originally signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars as a free agent out of Nevada following the 2013 NFL Draft.

Johnson has played in 18 games with one start in three seasons with the Falcons. He suffered a broken fibula and a dislocated ankle earlier this week. He is expected to be lost for the season, according to multiple reports.

Lamar Holmes started at right tackle for Atlanta in the preseason opener against Cincinnati on Thursday night.
