Falcon 9 rocket launches from Vandenberg SFB Monday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Kern residents witnessed a stunning spectacle across the night sky Monday.

SpaceX launched another Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base. A bright plume lit up the twilight sky, as the rocket carried 22 Starlink satellites to low-earth orbit.

Charity golf tournament raises money for Honor Flight Kern County

The satellites are part of Starlink’s “mega-constellation,” which consists of more than 5,500 satellites in Earth’s orbit.
