Fairy tale castle

Stunning pictures show what could be the most perfect, yet abandoned, fairy tale castle, built by a pioneering English architect. The spectacular images show the outside of the castle, which looks like something from a Disney film, while inside the true damage is revealed.

Piles of rubble are strewn throughout the building, staircases and walls have crumbled, and floors are ripped out. Englishman Edward Milner was commissioned in 1866 by the Liedekerke-Beaufort family to build Belgium's Chateau Miranda, more recently known as Chateau de Noisy.

Milner was a darling of the Victorian garden movement, becoming the principal of Britain's Crystal Palace School for Gardening. The pictures were snapped by Belgian security guard and amateur photographer Provost Kenneth of Ostend. (Caters News)
