Fairland Boys & Girls Club has a new location thanks to Cherokee Nation partnership

FAIRLAND, Okla. — The Fairland, Oklahoma Boys and Girls Club has a new home.

The Fairland Unit of the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa County was first formed in 1999, and had been operating out of the school system’s building.

They were able to purchase the new building, located at 501 Conner Ave., through a partnership with the Cherokee Nation. Club administrators said the new building will give them more room to expand their services and bring in kids that are currently on a waiting list.

“This is a transformational purchase for our organization. Fairland is a small community, but they’re a mighty community that invests in their kids. They invest in their youth, and they believe in their kids, and we do, too,” said MacKenzie Garst, CEO, Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa County.

The new building still needs extensive renovations, which are planned to begin in the near future.

The Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa County is accepting donations to help offset the cost of that work. You can find out more on how to donate here.
