Tokyo is largely considered the urban embodiment of unbridled—if not out-of-this-world—street style. No detail left uncurated, more often than not a shocking dye job is a key part of the sartorial strategy. And this season during Tokyo Fashion Week, the Japanese capital’s boldest peacocks offered much to marvel at above the neck.

There was a distinct air of rebellion, with lots of acid-bright shades of pink (as seen on Halsey’s perpetually statement-making crop), yellow, and green adding to the vast spectrum of colors. And just as fun and cleverly off-kilter were the styles, from a flamingo-hued half-up look remixed with twin raver knots to a hyper-bleached pixie accented with a single fuchsia micro braid trailing down the back like an ethereal rattail. Here, all the can’t-miss Manic Panic statements from the week.
