Explosions occurred in the temporarily occupied Luhansk, specifically targeting the Luhansk Academy of Internal Affairs, a known base for Russian troops, local outlet Novosti Donbassa reported on May 20.

Leonid Pasechnik, the self-proclaimed leader of the "LPR" terrorist group, stated that five individuals were injured in the incident, which involved a strike by Ukrainian forces using Storm Shadow missiles. The attack also led to fires in several residential buildings.

Footage showing the aftermath of the explosions has been circulated by propagandists.

Residents confirmed that the targeted facility belonged to the Interior Ministry Academy, according to Novosti Donbassa. Official comments from Ukrainian authorities and the military regarding the explosions have not yet been made.

This incident follows a previous attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the academy premises in May 2023, which targeted an older building used by the Russian military. That attack resulted in injuries to Igor Kornet, the so-called acting "head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs" of the "LPR" terrorist organization.
