Explosion at business in western North Dakota oil patch kills 1 worker and injures another

ROSS, N.D. (AP) -- Authorities are investigating an explosion at a business in the western North Dakota oil patch that killed one worker and injured another.

Mountrail County Sheriff Ken Halvorson says the blast Wednesday happened while 19-year-old Trevor Davis, of Burlington, was cleaning the inside of an oil tanker trailer at the Plains Trucking yard northwest of Ross.

Halvorson says Davis was pronounced dead at the scene. Twenty-year-old Darian Songer-Bail, of West Fargo, suffered burns and other undisclosed injuries and was flown to a Minot hospital.
