Expect Terre Haute street restriping on Thursday

May 22—The city of Terre Haute has announced a restriping project aimed at enhancing safety and ensuring better visibility for drivers and pedestrians.

It begins at 3 a.m. Thursday and the city expects to complete it by the end of the day.

The first phase includes the restriping of major thoroughfares and key intersections downtown. Specific areas targeted for restriping include Ohio Street, Walnut Street, Wabash Avenue and Cherry Street from the railroad tracks to U.S. 41.

Restriping will take place during both early morning and late daytime. The city says efforts will be made to conduct the most disruptive activities during off-peak hours.

Drivers are asked to stay off of the paint as much as possible Thursday.

Feedback can be submitted through the city's 311 Citizen Contact Center; call 3-1-1 or text 812-645-6811.

Updates on progress of the restriping will be shared via the city's website and social media channels.
