Expect a slight cool down throughout the week in Kern

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — West wind gusts near 50 mph are expected in the Mojave Desert Slopes this afternoon into early Thursday morning. A Wind Advisory is in effect.

A trough of low pressure will pass over Central California Friday. This trough of low pressure may provide enough lift for thunderstorm development in the Sierra Nevada Friday afternoon. The trough of low pressure will move eastward across the Central United States Saturday.

Strong, gusty west winds are possible in the Mojave Desert Slopes each afternoon and evening Thursday through Saturday. A Wind Advisory may be required. A ridge of high pressure will slowly build over the Western United States Sunday through Tuesday.
