Expect lane closures along I-76 for metro sign replacement project

DENVER (KDVR) — The Colorado Department of Transportation has begun nighttime lane closures along Interstate 76 from Arvada to Lochbuie for sign replacement work.

Interstate 70 to close between Colfax Avenue, Tower Road Monday night

The project began on May 12, with work to occur from Sunday through Thursday from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night.

The project will be completed in approximately a month, according to CDOT, and vehicular traffic will be reduced to one lane for both east and westbound traffic. Crews will direct traffic through, alternating traffic intermittently in either direction during work hours.

Up to 15-minute delays are expected during the 26-mile project estimated to cost $328,000. The goal is to provide safer, more efficient and more user-friendly transportation systems, according to CDOT, and benefit the general public with better travel experiences.
