Popular Japan-based ramen chain Ippudo is opening a restaurant in London this September: It'll be the 39th Ippudo location outside of Japan (and the first in Europe), joining the restaurant's international outlets in New York City, Sydney, Singapore, and Hong Kong, and most recently, Taiwan.
According to a press release, the restaurant will be located in the Central St. Giles development and will feature 80 seats, including an outdoor space for dining in the summer. The menu will center on variations on Hakata-style ramen, which features a tonkotsu pork broth base and side items like pork buns. There will also be two vegetarian ramens made from a seaweed and mushroom broth that will be topped with noodles, fried tofu, and bean sprouts. Ippudo London will also have an expanded menu starting October 1 which will include fusion dishes like Japanese-style fish and chips to pair with sake, shochu, and cocktails.
