Exide President and CEO Bolch resigning

MILTON, Ga. (AP) -- The president and CEO of Exide Technologies, which filed for Ch. 11 bankruptcy protection last month, has resigned.

Chief Restructuring Officer Robert Caruso will take both posts held by James Bolch, who will assist in the transition until the end of November. His resignation becomes effective Wednesday.

Exide, based in Milton, Ga., makes batteries for the automotive and industrial sectors. The company announced the filing in June as it attempted to restructure its U.S. business and strengthen its balance sheet. International operations were excluded from the filing.

Ed Mosley, who currently works with Caruso at restructuring firm Alvarez & Marshal, will replace Caruso as chief restructuring officer. Both appointments are effective on Thursday.
