Excavator stolen from local roadside construction site

COPLEY, Ohio (WJW) – Copley police are hoping the public can help them track down an 8,000-pound piece of construction equipment.
According to a township Facebook post, a John Deere 35G mini excavator was stolen from a utility company working along Copley Road.

The thief, or thieves, also took a two-foot bucket and steel boring rods, according to the post.

The work site is located in the 3900 block of Copley Road, just south of State Route 21.
Officials said they believe whoever is responsible brought a trailer to the location and loaded up the equipment.
The crime is believed to have happened sometime between 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 29, and 8 a.m. on Monday, March 4.
