Ex-security official faces arrest warrant — UA High Anti-Corruption Court
The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) in Ukraine has issued an arrest warrant in absentia for Oleh Hladkovskyi, the former First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) reported on Facebook on May 13.
Supporting the SAPO prosecutor's position, the HACC investigating judge ordered pretrial detention for Hladkovskyi, who, along with a former deputy defense minister and a Defense Ministry department director, is accused of causing 17.44 million hryvnias ($440,000) in damages to the state.
Authorities say Hladkovskyi abused his power and position to secure undue benefits from a company in which he and his close associates have ownership, specifically Automobile Company Bogdan Motors, according to the SAPO's investigation.

The charges against Hladkovskyi were first announced in October 2019, and in April 2020, charges were also brought against the former deputy defense minister and the Defense Ministry department director under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code.

The indictment was sent to the HACC on July 2, 2021, for review.
Due to the accused's failure to appear at court hearings and following a prosecutor's request, the HACC panel of judges issued an arrest warrant for Hladkovskyi on April 16, 2024.

Oleh Hladkovskyi's case
Hladkovskyi was initially arrested on Oct. 19, 2019, with the option to post a 10.6 million hryvnia bail ($267,000), which was paid two days later on Oct. 21, 2019.
In March 2022, the court redirected the bail funds to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces and changed the preventive measure to personal recognizance. Following this change, Hladkovskyi stopped appearing at court hearings.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) later discovered that Hladkovskyi had left the country, leading authorities to issue a warrant for his arrest.
